Hi, hope all well with you.
It has been good to see some easing of the Covid restrictions as infection rates have declined but hopefully we are all being careful especially as some folk seem to think it is all over. The realists think that a second spike is a real possibility.
There has been no easing yet of the use of Community Halls and the meeting of clubs etc. so for the time being we can not resume our Woodturning Club activities with monthly meetings. However some of us have started to use the YouTube and Zoom much more to keep us motivated with our woodturning activities.
If you have not found it yet, try going to YouTube, SkillCentreAtHome, from Axminster Tools. This is an excellent series with Colwin Way on Tuesdays and Thursdays but you can watch the recordings any time on You Tube. Its free! The Axminster Shops are now open again if you are keen to spend money.
The Northern Clubs of Borders, Northumbria and ourselves have a weekly Zoom meeting, again it is free, but you must register for each meeting. We have had talks from various demonstrators including Andrew Hall and Helen Bailey. Last week it was a trouble shooting session which was excellent, with good advice and it is nice to see familiar faces. Why not give it a try, its free, but you need to register details are below
You can book onto the Zoom sessions here:

Some of you may know Pat Carroll, an Irish Woodturner who specialises in bowls and hollow forms. There was an interesting session on the AWGB website with him giving a master class in cutting bowl blanks, turning bowls etc there was loads of good practical advice.

Pat has a virtual session on Sunday 28th June 2020 at 7pm. The cost is only 10 Euro and the subject is Hollow Forms. The link is https://www.patcarrollwoodturning.com/.
If there is any information you want me to include in future newsletters please do let me know. Please contact me via the Wear Valley Woodturners website contact page.
Stay safe, keep turning and hopefully I will see you soon
Kind regards
Andrew
