Well for those of you who don’t know we have David Ellsworth on the Pat Carroll meet the woodturner session this week (today in fact 27-09-2020). I guess it would be safe enough to describe David as the father of hollow form turning as we know it. So I think it would be safe enough to say you don’t want to miss this one. To join up just email Pat on [email protected]
Woodturners Worldwide Symposium 24-26 September
Well that was a heck of a thing!!
It started out on Tuesday 22 and has run pretty much the whole week. We had a few bloopers but nothing major and of course we now have several new “stars”….well done to all.
Sessions covered pretty much every aspect of turning and there were loads of opportunities to meet and chat with other turners, not just the “rock stars” ….you know who you are!!
The sessions are now available for a month and the chat functions will continue to work during that period.
Overall I’d say it’s been a big success and points the way forward for the future, both now and, when we get to it, “post covid”.
A big thank you is due to Matt Deighton, he has organised the whole thing..his motto seems to be “sleep is overrated”!
IRD’s coming up
Saturday 3rd October: Cindy Drozda - Multi Axis Hollow Form
Saturday 3rd October: Eric Lofstrom - End grain boxes
Sunday 4th October: Pat Carroll - Colour and Texture
So if you have some free time on Monday at 7pm then why not come along, send over a few photos and we will put them up on screen for you so you can tell us what you have been up to …doesn’t have to be turning!!
